FAQ
1. What is Shamanic Reiki?

Shamanic Reiki is an integrative healing practice that combines the energy work of Reiki with shamanic healing traditions. Reiki is a Japanese practice where a practitioner channels universal life force energy to promote balance and healing in a person’s body, mind, and spirit. Shamanism, on the other hand, is an ancient spiritual practice found in many indigenous cultures, centered around the concept of connecting with the spirit world to bring healing, guidance, and insight.
When these two practices are merged, Shamanic Reiki brings in the use of traditional shamanic techniques like drumming, journeying, and connecting with spirit guides, power animals, or the elements to enhance the Reiki experience. In a session, the practitioner may use rituals to call upon helping spirits, ancestors, or earth energies to assist in clearing blockages and restoring harmony in the person receiving the treatment. This combination works on both the energetic level (as in Reiki) and the spiritual level (as in shamanism), aiming to heal deeper wounds or imbalances that might be connected to ancestral, karmic, or past life traumas.
Unlike standard Reiki, which often has a quieter, hands-on or hands-off approach, Shamanic Reiki might involve more active elements like visualization, chanting, or movement as the practitioner journeys to other realms or communicates with spirits on the client’s behalf. It can be especially effective for those who feel called to earth-based spiritual practices or are seeking healing on multiple levels of their being, especially in connection to nature, lineage, or the cosmos.
As a teacher of accessing the Akashic Records and one who has worked with shamanic traditions, you may find Shamanic Reiki aligns with your interests in ancestral healing and soul wisdom, creating even deeper shifts in one’s energetic and spiritual path.

3. What happens in a session?
In an in person session, the client simply lays fully clothed on the reiki table. Some practitioners will guide the client into a meditation to further ease them into relaxation. The treatment involves high levels of energy vibration being transmitted by the laying of hands over (or on) the various blockages of the clients' body and their natural energy field, by the practitioner.
4. What happens after?
After the session, the practitioner may decide to share their experience within the clients energy field and further ways to support the unfolding of the session once the client leaves. The client may feel tired after the session as the energy detox continues . It is advised that the time after the treatment be spent resting at home for a minimum of one hour.
